Play Golf in the Czech Republic
Golf is becoming very popular in the Czech Republic and in the last few years a number of very good courses have been opened or improved within easy reach of Prague. These relatively new courses complement those which have been in existence for some time.
We can guarantee you that there is something here for every type of golfer.
We can arrange tee times for you at all of the courses detailed below, as well as travel of course, accommodation, and reservations to restaurants, and places of interest.
In short you can combine great golf in beautiful surroundings with the pleasures of Prague and all the other attractions of our lovely country.
Good golfers will be interested in all of the following courses:
Prague Karlstejn Golf Club
The 18 hole course opened in 1993 and is a venue for the European PGA Tour events. It's a challenging course of 6300 meters set in rolling countryside about a 30 minute drive from the centre of Prague. The greens are excellent, the fairways are well designed and the course looks out over the historic Karlstejn Castle. It has a welcoming club-house with a lovely terrace. This is a fine venue.
Konopiste Golf Club and golf resort
This is a top class golf resort with two 18 hole courses both of which are excellent. A feature of both courses is the high quality of the extensive and beautifully modelled greens. Konopiste is about a 30 minute drive from Prague centre. Set in rolling woodland, both courses have a number of well-built bunkers and water features and a good club house with hotel facilities.
Plzen Golf Club and hotel
A top class course with lots of interesting holes in woodland, open hills and with water features. About an hour's drive from Prague to the west, this excellent golf centre will not disappoint you. The greens are first class, the fairways are tight in places, and the bunkers are a challenge. Enjoy!
Podebrady
Set on the flood plain of the river Elbe, and about 45 minutes to the east of Prague, this 18 hole course is dead flat. The lush fairways thread through woodland and accurate straight driving is essential especially on the numerous dog-leg holes. The twelfth is especially difficult as a double dog- leg through the forest. Get a par here and retire happily! There is water on 13 of the holes. Bring plenty of balls. This is a good place to play, and admire nature if you are searching!
Karlovy Vary
The oldest club in The Czech Republic, this 18 hole course has been re developed sensitively over the last few years and is now an excellent venue. It is about 5kms out of the famous spa town now enjoying a significant revival in its fortunes. There are several fine hotels in the town or you can travel from Prague in a little over an hour.
Marianske Lazne Golf Club
This is now the course of choice for the European PGA Volvo tour. And it's easy to see why. This is a championship course in every respect and well worth a visit by good golfers. It is not so long as others but it does require good technique. About an hour and a half from Prague, you can there easily by car. Otherwise there is every opportunity to combine golf with a relaxing holiday in beautiful countryside.
Berovice Golf Club
This is an excellent 9 hole course run by enthusiastic golfers and certain to be very high on the list of courses you have enjoyed. It is a new course but mature for all that. Every thing about this course is high quality, from the reception to the practice area, to the little 9 hole par three warm up course to the cunningly designed holes on perfect greens. Berovice is in Slany to the west of Prague about 45 minutes drive and is hilly.
Benatky Golf Club
A new 9 hole course to the north of Prague. Again there has been great attention to detail here. The practice and warm up areas are very good and the course, whilst relatively flat, is nearly 6200 meters if you play 18. There is real variety in the holes and this course will give you and your friends great pleasure.
Jested Golf Club
A 9 hole course about 100 kilometers to the north of Prague set in the most beautiful countryside close to the university city of Liberec. The course is overlooked by the majestic hill called Jested on which sits an amazingly beautiful television tower and hotel resort. Jested is developing rapidly and is well worth a visit as is the whole north Bohemia region.
We can also provide details of other golf clubs in the Czech Republic but which are further afield from Prague. Most notably now there are very good courses in
- Ostrava, to the north east
- Cesky Budejovice to the south
- Brno to the south east
Please do not hesitate to ask for further details.
We would like to help you, certain in the knowledge that you will really enjoy Golf in the Czech Republic.
